The following is a press release from Wilsonart.
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Wilsonart, a world-class innovator of next-generation engineered surfaces, today announced a new scholarship program for Klamath Community College (KCC) students. The Wilsonart Scholarship program will provide $1,000 of funding to 8 students in specific KCC career technical pr
ograms for the 2021 – 2022 academic year. The announcement of the scholarship program comes on the heels of Wilsonart opening its new manufacturing facility in Klamath Falls, Ore.
“Wilsonart is thrilled to work with Klamath Community College to offer this new scholarship program as an opportunity to invest in the people of Klamath and the future of the
engineered surfaces industry,” said Ron Ubertini, vice president of product management at Wilsonart. “The Wilsonart Scholarship program is just one of the many ways we are getting involved within the community, and we look forward to being an integral part of the development and success of Klamath for years to come.”
The Wilsonart Scholarship program is open to new and continuing KCC students in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Business Technology and Welding programs. In addition to providing funding, Wilsonart invites recipients to apply for part-time employment at Wilsonart while enrolled at KCC. While part-time employment opportunities are available, it is not a requirement of the scholarship program.
“Wilsonart strives to take this program beyond financial assistance by providing recipients with relevant real-world experience and knowledge that will help lay the foundation for a successful career in these growing technical fields,” said Ubertini.
The deadline to apply for the Wilsonart Scholarship program is 5 p.m. on October 1, 2021. Scholarship award letters will be sent to students beginning October 20. For more information or to apply for the program, visit www.klamathcc.edu or call (541) 880-2234.
