Youth Voices Matter!
Having a seat at the table lets you determine what businesses, events, and activities come to
Klamath County.
Positions are for 1 year, but appointees may reapply at the end of their term.
Appointees get to make decisions on funding requests, up to
$150,000 in some cycles!
Applicants must have a person 21+ willing to act as a reference.
What Would
We Do?
- 2 seats are available on the Tourism Grant Committee and also on the Economic Development Grant Committee.
- Committees meet 1 – 3 times per year, typically in April and October. Grant applications are sent out in advance via email.
Who Can Be Part of
the Change?
- Youth ages 16 – 20 are welcome to apply. Successful applicants will be interviewed by the County Commissioners and/or members of the committee.
Appointees are responsible for reviewing all grant requests submitted, scoring grant
requests, then participating in a small group discussion to allocate funding
recommendations to the
County Commissioners.
Committees meet in person, but Zoom requests can be accommodated.
Appointees get to know what’s happening around them before anyone else!
