KCEDA Hires New CEO
Klamath Falls, OR (September 28th, 2018) – Following an extensive, national search process, the Klamath County Economic Development Association (KCEDA), proudly announced today the selection of Randy Cox as the organization’s new CEO. Cox will be replacing former CEO, Greg O’Sullivan, who in 2015 took the position to help the organization in its restructuring as it worked to adopt its current “pay-to-play” format, a model proven successful by several agencies throughout the country, including EDCO, a central Oregon economic development agency based out of Bend.
A former Oregon Tech graduate, Cox had previously spent a majority of his career with JELD-WEN, where he served the company in several capacities throughout the globe. Ultimately advancing up the ranks, Cox spent nearly the last 10 years as the JELD-WEN’s Vice President of Research and Development, managing over $2B in product lines, and achieving over 125 product introductions. Having acquired an extensive background in project coordination, product engineering, and manufacturing processes, Cox brings a wealth of experience to KCEDA that strongly compliments the organization’s focus on catalyzing growth of traded-sector businesses. Speaking about his hiring and how he looks to further elevate the organization, Cox says, “I am excited about the opportunity to join the KCEDA team and help build upon the momentum the organization has achieved. We look forward to developing the needed steps for catalyzing further economic development.”
KCEDA’s search committee comprised of various business leaders from Klamath County, began their search process in late July of this year, evaluating several candidates from across the country. Having now reached a decision members of KCEDA’s executive committee have expressed great excitement about having Cox join the organization. Of those committee members, is KCEDA President, Lauren Jespersen, who shared his perspective of the new hire, stating, “We had a lot of really good candidates, and I think that speaks well to how far KCEDA has come. We are extremely excited to have Randy join the team and help bring economic development in Klamath County to the next level.”
