KCEDA Member Highlight: Greenway Containers
For this month’s member highlight, we take a look at GreenWay Sustainable Containers. GreenWay is dedicated to helping consumers and businesses make the transition into a world where renewable, ethically-made and cost-effective packaging is commonplace. The company places great emphasis on considering sustainability in every step of their process, from sourcing to production, to packaging and shipment. The tubes utilized by the operation are made with FSC certified paper, and the outer paper of all their brown kraft paper tubes is 100% recycled. Rice glue is used for the adhesive applied to the products, with the product lining being made of soybean wax that is stable up to 140°F or 60°C. All of the company’s tubes are fully home compostable. Tubes that have an extra coating on the outside are industrially compostable, and have a thin layer of PLA bioplastic made from plant starches from sugar cane, corn stalks, etc. The containers are food grade and comply with EU regulations for cosmetic container safety standards. Lastly, the company ships using plastic free, recycled materials that are recyclable and compostable.
